Partners in Grain Coordinator Kim Blenkiron or a member of the South Australian State Reference Group are able to support groups of grain growers to enhance their confidence and skills and increase their involvement in their business.
Groups are encouraged to drive their own learning, training and information gathering at the level that suits them. This enables them to address gaps in their skills - be they in crop monitoring, crop walks, weed and disease identification or machinery replacement, marketing, communication, human resource management, the skills to make farm families work, farm safety or whatever they decide.
Kim Blenkiron will attend a meeting or casual get together to facilitate the group through identifying training needs of the group and to assist in the groups development.
Partners in Grain will support your group to gain funding support for training that is undertaken. We also have links to make full use of grants that are available.
Group leaders have the opportunity to be a part of the PinG State Reference Group, which meets twice a year and has regular webinar meetings. The face to face meetings are fun, being used as an opportunity to celebrate our successes and gain professional development training. The meetings are also a way of keeping PinG Group Leaders informed on what other PinG groups around the state are doing and what they may be able to take back to their groups.
