Partners in Grain Mission
Partners in Grain is a Grains Research and Development corporation (GRDC) funded project which facilitates professional development activities for farming businesses.
What is Partners in Grain?
Partners in Grain (PinG) is a national initiative facilitating professional development opportunities for all partners in grains businesses. PinG aims to strengthen knowledge and generate innovation in the grains industry.
Sponsored by GRDC each state sources additional partnership funding from industry related bodies within their state.
The project has successfully completed three stages of funding spaning nine years. The ongoing commitment of GRDC funding to PinG allows the project to continue to ensure that the grains industry and all its participants prosper through training and professional development.
Structure
PinG is a national project with the six Australian grain growing States involved. The project is managed by a National Reference Group Coordinator and five State Reference Groups made up of farmer and industry representatives and a part time paid Coordinator. (Victoria and Tasmania are combined).
There is a National Reference Group, with a National Chair, National Coordinator and the Chair and Coordinator of each state.
All State Reference Groups have strong links with a wide range of industry organisations, key grower groups, State Departments of Agriculture, State Farmer Groups, Trainers, Consultants, proving the project with an extensive network.
Partners in Grain aims to provide:
- Professional development opportunities for grain growers throughout Australia
- Identification of emerging grower issues
- Partnerships with industry bodies who wish to run workshops or training in regional areas
- The ability to link grain growers with appropriate leadership programs
- A professional network of people across the nation
